SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an image forming apparatus using an electrophotographic system. Claimed group of inventions includes a cartridge which can be attached to and detached from the main body portion of the image forming apparatus, which forms an image on the recording material, a process cartridge that can be attached to and detached from the main body portion of the image forming apparatus, and an image forming apparatus forming an image on the recording material. In this case, the cartridge comprises: a photosensitive body portion and a carcass body portion, which supports the photosensitive body portion and which includes a first delimited portion, which is delimited by the first restricting part provided in the main body of the device and the second delimited portion, which is provided on the side opposite the first limiting portion, through the optical path of light to act on the photosensitive body portion, and which is limited by the second limiting part provided in the main body of the device, in which the first delimited part and the second delimited part are delimited by the first bounding part and the second bounding part, the movement direction extends parallel to the axial direction of the photosensitive body portion, in the process of being connected to or disconnected from the main body of the device, is available, and the position of the process cartridge during the attachment or detachment is limited.

EFFECT: technical result is reduced overall dimensions of the image forming apparatus.
