FIELD: sonar.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sonar, it can be used for subsea operations, underwater monitoring, for protection of various objects from the side of aquatic environment and ensures achievement of constant maximum possible detection range of underwater targets, as well as noise immunity in operation of sonar system. Method for sonar in shallow areas with operational control of variability of conditions for detecting underwater target is proposed, consisting of longitudinal wave sounding by radiator of water column and reception of probing signal reflected from underwater target, in which, simultaneously with detection of underwater target, reception of sounding signal reflected from scattering object at at least two points located at different distances from scattering object is also carried out, degree of attenuation of the energy of sounding signal reflected from scattering object is determined using data on intensity ratio of probe signal received in at least two points, and based on results of comparison of obtained energy value with threshold one, decision is taken to compensate for negative influence of present interference caused by variability of detection conditions of underwater target, while scattering object is located in probed area.
EFFECT: method of sonar in shallow areas is proposed with operational control of variability of conditions for detecting underwater target.
