FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process for preparation of effective reagents having a high absorption rate of hydrogen sulphide and mercaptans stable at low temperatures. Process involves preparation of a neutralizer based on a concentrate of 41–55 % formaldehyde solution formed by the oxidation of methanol, with the addition of any base, amines or alkali, while adding methanol additionally after obtaining a 41–55 % formaldehyde solution.
EFFECT: obtained reagents within 4 hours allow to reduce the mass fraction of hydrogen sulfide below 100 million-1.
