FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to catalysts and catalytic systems for the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC), as well as to a method for producing DMC. Catalyst based on SnO2, supported on aluminum oxide, which contains promoters in the form of metal halides (CuCl2; ZnCl2 and KF). Catalyst is prepared by sequential application to γ-Al2O3 salts of halides of Cu, Zn and K from their aqueous solutions with intermediate drying and final calcination. Process of synthesis of DMC from methanol and CO2, which is carried out in the gas phase in a static reactor (autoclave) using the catalytic system described above. To increase the efficiency of the catalytic process of DMC production, the binding of water formed during the DMC synthesis reaction is used. For this, boron oxide (B2O3), a substance that chemically binds water, and to improve gas transfer in a gas-phase reaction in an autoclave, the circulation of the gas phase is used.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the catalytic DMC production process.
