FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of catalyst in low-temperature synthesis of methanol from CO, CO2 or mixtures thereof. Active catalyst component includes Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 with addition of carbon material obtained by thermal decomposition of zinc glycerolate. Amount of mesoporous carbon is 5–10% with respect to the total weight of the catalyst.
EFFECT: development of an efficient catalyst for synthesis of methanol on an inexpensive technologically accessible carbon support, which enables to improve the performance of the catalyst.
