FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used to measure the permittivity and humidity of loose, pasty and liquid materials with high electrical conductivity, incl. salt pulp, anthracite, ore, crude oil and oil sludge. Method is based on the use of a detector that converts a probing high-frequency signal and the use of a sensor configured as a length of a long transmission line. From a generator tunable in the frequency range, a probing high-frequency signal is applied to the sensor input and the frequencies of the harmonics are measured, characterized in that at these frequencies, the length of the signal conductor of the sensor is equal to or multiples of half the wavelength of the probe signal in the material filling the sensor. Frequencies of the harmonics in the proposed method are determined from the minimum voltage at the output of the detector, made in the form of a phase discriminator, in which the output voltage reaches a minimum when its input signals are in phase or antiphase, while the detector inputs are connected to the sensor input and output through the lengths of a coaxial cable of the same electrical length and matched at the outputs. Apparatus is also provided for measuring the physical parameters of a material in which the proposed method is carried out, while for measuring physical parameters of liquid material in pipelines, the sensor of the device is made in the form of a pipe, inside which there is a signal conductor, and for measuring physical parameters of bulk materials in bins and on conveyors, the sensor is made in the form of a shield on which a U-shaped rod is fixed.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of measurements of the dielectric parameters and the moisture content of the controlled material is the technical result of the invention.
