FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for measuring soil moisture and can be used to determine the moisture content of sapropel and soil in the field. The device has the necessary shape of the electrodes and the corresponding electronic circuit of the measuring device installed on a metal base, creating a probing signal circuit from the measuring device to the recording device, whereas the device comprises an electronic circuit of a resistive moisture sensor in in the form of two electrodes separated by a dielectric, which, using a dielectric cover, are pressed into the mass of sapropel or soil and come into contact with them, and the generated signal characterizing the degree of humidity enters the data processing device through the cell, in which, in accordance with the data stored in the processor memory, taking into account set of temperatures, the moisture content in the controlled material is calculated.

EFFECT: improving the accuracy of moisture measurements at the required soil depth.
