SUBSTANCE: invention relates to determining the ambient air humidity by means of an exhaust gas sensor associated with an internal combustion engine exhaust system. According to one embodiment, the sensor reference voltage is modulated between the first and second voltages to the motor during the fuel cutoff. Outer air humidity is determined based on the average value of the pump current variation with voltage modulation.

EFFECT: neutralization of the effect of changing the air-fuel ratio due to modulation of the reference voltage.
