FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in diagnosis of exhaust gas recirculation system of car internal combustion engine. Diagnostic technique for engine (10) with valve (60) for dilution air at inlet of exhaust gases of engine, consists in that feature of defect of valve (60) is determined, when in feeding fuel into engine (10) on valve (60) command is sent to close, but output signal of oxygen sensor (66) corresponds to oxygen concentration lower than oxygen concentration in external air. Feature of sensor (66) defect is established, when with no fuel feed to engine command is sent to close valve (60), but output signal of oxygen sensor (66) corresponds to oxygen concentration lower than oxygen concentration in external air.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of diagnostics.
