FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Method for engine (10) comprises, in response to an (exhaust gas recirculation) EGR air-fuel ratio being richer than a threshold, correcting intake oxygen sensor (172) output with a correction factor based on a richness of the EGR air-fuel ratio. Each of an EGR rate and cylinder (14) fuel injection is adjusted based on corrected sensor (172) output. Version of the method for the engine and the engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result is to reduce the distortion of the sensor output signal when the EGR air-fuel ratio changes.
