FIELD: transportation; electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to electrodynamic brake systems for vehicles. Method for reliably controlling the braking torque of drive system (1), which comprises synchronous machine (2) and switching device (3), is as follows. Switching device (3) in the first state closes phase terminals (20) of synchronous machine (2) in a short time, with the first braking torque occurring in synchronous machine (2) (MBr1). In the second state, phase connections (20) of synchronous machine (2) are connected to at least one resistance (4), while synchronous machine (20) has a second braking torque (MBr2). In this case, switching device (3) switches between the states in such a way that a given braking torque (M*) is obtained in the time average in synchronous machine (2). Switching between the states of switching device (3) is carried out periodically with a switching frequency of 10 Hz or more. Drive system for implementing a method for controlling a braking torque and a rail vehicle with a proposed drive system are also claimed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increasing the reliability of the electrodynamic braking system.
