SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vehicle that has a steering wheel with a casing and an airbag assembly. In the method, the airbag assembly includes an airbag and a pressure unit located behind the casing of the steering wheel. Said pressure unit is configured to inflate the airbag. Above airbag includes a main bag designed to soften the driver's impact and an auxiliary bag located on the side of the main bag next to the driver's side in the vehicle. Said auxiliary bag is designed to catch the driver during a collision of the vehicle. Also, the airbag includes an insert with a seam that separates the main and auxiliary airbags. Such seam can be torn to inflate the auxiliary airbag with gas when the pressure in the main airbag exceeds the threshold value.
EFFECT: increased safety of the driver of the vehicle.
