FIELD: test technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for examining devices for leaks and can be used to detect leakage in apparatus used to manufacture automotive catalytic converters of exhaust gases. Essence: monitored device (122) has coating chamber (127), in which two sensors (123, 126) are located at different levels to measure height of liquid composition of porous oxide coating. Both sensors (123, 126) are connected to control unit (125). Liquid coating composition (113) of porous oxide coating to predetermined level (130) between lower (126) and upper (123) sensors is introduced int coating chamber (127). It is expected for 5 seconds. It is determined whether control unit (125) signals about continuation of raising liquid composition level (130) of porous oxide coating to upper sensor (123) or that contact with lower sensor (126) has disappeared.
EFFECT: detection of leaks in manufacture of catalytic converters.
