FIELD: transportation; gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the main gas pipelines (MGP) operation, in particular to the geodynamic zones (GDZ) crossing main gas pipelines, to which one can include: faults of different nature, earth blocks movements, thrusts (rock bumps), karsts, etc. Invention goal is crossing the main gas pipelines GDZ detection direct method. This goal is achieved as follows. After the construction completion or in case of routine diagnostics by the ILI means, the MGP section control inspection is carried out by passing of the ILI pigs, equipped with the elastic and elastoplastic bending radii direct measurement device. This allows to determine the actual radii of curvature and plot them in the bend plane, fixing the bend direction. According to the ILI pigs repeated passing, detecting the areas, where the bend radius stable tendency to decrease is noticeable. At that, the bend radii are determined for each of the mating sections with the pipeline bend opposite directions, on both sides of the geodynamic zone assumed boundary. Two sections with the bending opposite directions conjugation point is the geodynamic zone assumed boundary.

EFFECT: invention allows to detect crossing the MGP GDZ, without performance of the complex aerospace, geological and geophysical system studies, by means of ILI, by the pipeline bend radii changes dynamics.
