REPAIR OF POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS AREA OF PIPELINE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC F16L1/24

Abstract RU 2686133 C1

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the operation of gas pipelines, in particular to the operation of potentially hazardous areas (PHA) with a high, non-standard level of stress-strain state (SSS). According to the invention, after evaluating the technical condition of a PHA with a non-standard SSS level, a calculated point with a minimum bend radius is determined from the results of in-line inspection. On the gas-free overhead junction of the main gas pipeline, they are cut at the design point, which removes non-standard stresses, while both ends of the pipeline are straightened and occupy a natural position (without bending stresses). Then, using geodetic tools, measure the angular position of the cut ends of the pipeline, which allows determining the resulting axis crosshair. Axis of the crosshairs is the angle of removal of the cold bend, the symmetrical inset of which provides the standard stress level of the repaired part of the overpass without oblique joints.

EFFECT: aim of the invention is to develop a method for repairing PHA of aboveground sections of the trunk gas pipeline with an elevated, non-standard level of SSS.
