FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operation of main gas pipelines (MGP), in particular, to operation of potentially hazardous areas (PHA) with high, non-normative level of stress-strain behavior (SSB). Invention objective is development of the method of repairing the PHA of MGP sections providing the standard level of the stress-strain behavior. Method of repair of potentially hazardous section of gas pipeline consists in evaluation of its SSB with subsequent repair. In-pipe diagnostic means is used to define a point with non-normative minimum radius of bending. Then length of opened section is determined, providing standard value of radius of bend. For this purpose, point a, b, with bend radius 1000D, where D is the diameter of the pipeline, and points a1, c1 with zero bending stresses are determined on both sides from the point with non-normative minimum bend radius. Section is opened on both sides of design point with non-normative minimum radius of bend, wherein border of opened section is located within range of a-a1 and c-c1. Then pipeline is repaired, for example, by cutting.
EFFECT: advantage of the proposed invention is that according to the repair results, the standard flexural stresses are provided throughout the entire length of the exposed section.
