FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to paper used in smoking articles, such as a cigarette wrapper, wherein the paper comprises a hydrophobic surface. Smoking article contains substrate of tobacco; wrapper disposed around the tobacco substrate, wherein at least the inner or outer surface of the wrapper is hydrophobic due to hydrophobic groups chemically bonded to the wrapper, the wrapper having a permeability of at least about 15 CORESTA units.
EFFECT: technical results of the invention are the provision of a wrapper with hydrophobic properties and the setting of a minimum value of porosity.
