FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, in particular to a rechargeable battery cell, preferably an ion-lithium cell, and a method for producing same. Rechargeable electrochemical battery cell comprises housing (1), positive electrode (11), negative electrode (10), electrolyte (9), which contains SO2 and a conducting salt of the active metal, wherein at least one of electrodes (11) is enveloped by sheath (13) consisting of a glass fibre textile material, the areal extent of sheath (13) is greater than the areal extent of electrode (11), with the result that the glass fibre textile material extends beyond limit (14) of the electrode, and two layers (15, 16) of the glass fibre textile material which cover both sides of electrode are connected to one another at the edge of electrode (11) by edge connection (17).
EFFECT: increased safety and life of the rechargeable battery cell.
