SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. A RAN unit sends a message, a paging message or a destination message to wireless communication devices, wherein the message includes at least: (I) a paging mode field comprising information indicating one or more coverage classes for which one or more paging messages have been available for transmission during a time interval but have not been transmitted to multiple wireless communication devices; (II) a field of used_downlinkl_coverage_class containing information indicating a coverage class associated with one or more mobile stations which are destinations of a received EC immediate message.

EFFECT: solving the problem of bandwidth associated with managing EC-PCH and EC-AGCH resources in a wireless communication network.
