SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Present document describes a radio access network node (RAN), wireless communication device, and various methods for managing paging bandwidth. In one embodiment, the RAN transmits a message (for example, a paging message, destination message) to wireless communication devices, wherein the message includes at least the following: (i) paging mode field that contains information indicating one or more coverage classes for which one or more paging messages have been available for transmission during a time slot but have not been transmitted to more than one wireless communication device due to the decision of the RAN node about the priority of the paging message regarding the specified time interval; and (ii) field used_downlinkl_coverage_class, which contains information indicating a coverage class associated with a transmitted message.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and accuracy due to controlling the paging bandwidth.
