FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling fuel consumption in a hybrid vehicle engine. In the method, the result is achieved in that if the power required by the driver changes while the engine is running, the controller may decide to switch to using another fuel or continue using the same fuel using the accumulated power. This choice can be made taking into account the combination of the type of fuel and changes in power reserves, providing the greatest efficiency of the engine at the lowest cost of fuel use.
EFFECT: increased fuel economy in a hybrid vehicle system.
