FIELD: vehicle engine control system.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and systems for controlling a vehicle engine in order to perform recovery actions in case of leak detection of fuel injector. Disclosed are methods and systems for performing recovery actions in case of leak detection of fuel injector. According to one of the implementation examples, the method may include, in case of fuel injector leak detection, performing the first recovery actions using high pressure (338), including increasing the pressure in fuel rail (340), increased width of fuel injection pulse (342) supplied to leaky fuel injector, and command for fuel injection at compression stroke (344). In case leakage is persisted, pressure in fuel rail (321) is reduced and fuel is injected into all cylinders at intake stroke (322).
EFFECT: reduced clogging of fuel injector, reduced fuel consumption.
