FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wind power engineering. Wind turbine blade of variable dimensions, including the tip that is made of flat plates, which are connected by a hinge. Tip of the blade is provided with the mechanism for changing the distance between the free ends of the flat plates of the tip, which are made in the form of several springs that are arranged on the vertical axis of the hinge, where one end of each spring is fixed to the stiffener of one flat tip plate and the second end of the spring is fixed to the stiffener of another flat tip plate, each flat plate of the tip is hingedly connected to the coupling by means of two rods, the clutch freely moves along the guide rod, which is installed along the axis of symmetry of the blade profile, the coupling is pivotally connected to the movable stabilizing plane by means of a rod.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the coefficient of wind energy use by wind turbine blades with a vertical axis of rotation due to the fact that when the direction of movement of the natural wind speed changes, the dimensions of the blade profile change.
