FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar engineering and can be used in designing digital phased antenna arrays of radar for forming a receiving multi-beam pattern in a working area of space. Method of forming partial beams for parallel viewing of space consists in emitting, by the transmitting elements of the PAA, a probing signal which "illuminates" the entire working area of the space, receiving each of PAA receivers of its echo-signals, after which obtained set of analogue echo-signals are converted by group method into a set of digital quadrature signals from each PAA element, and then signals which correspond to partial beam patterns are generated using digital beam-forming circuitry. At that, to obtain a set of digital quadrature signals from each PAA element, a group method is used, in which the set of analogue echo signals is first modulated by a sequence of orthogonal codes orthogonal to each receiving element, then summing up all the modulated signals, after which the total signal is digitized, representing it in the form of digital quadratures, then the total digitized signal is decoded by correlation with the same sequence of orthogonal codes, resulting in a set of digital quadrature signals from each PAA element.

EFFECT: simplifying and reducing the number of operations associated with obtaining digital quadrature signals from elements of the antenna array before proper beam formation.
