FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: power conversion system (10) comprises a plurality of modules (14), each of which contains an input (16) and an output (17) and is connected in series. Each module (14) is connected to a DC power source (12), which supplies power to the module (14). In each of the modules (14) is provided with a voltage regulation circuit for changing the voltage between the input (16) and the output (17) from the maximum voltage of the module to the minimum voltage of the module. The control block (29), coupled with voltage regulation circuit of each module (14), changes the voltage between the input (16) and the output (17) of each module (14) so that the full voltage on the series-connected modules (14) represents a signal of alternating current or a signal of rectified alternating current.

EFFECT: improving conversion efficiency and providing greater flexibility.
