SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a packed bale of compressed filter tow material. Compact bale of the cube-shaped filter tow is obtained in a bale press. Next, the compact bale of the filter tow is packaged using a sealed packaging sleeve completely enclosing the compact bale of the filter tow.
EFFECT: in accordance with the invention, the packaging sleeve is applied to the compact bale of the filter tow so that at least 80 %, preferably 90 %, in particular 95 %, of the packaging sleeve is directly adjacent to the tightly compressed filter material and touches it or is separated from the densely compressed filtering bundle material at least a distance of not more than 15 mm.
