FIELD: nuclear reactors.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to nuclear fission reactors and fuel assemblies. In the method, the duct for a nuclear fuel assembly comprises a tubular body having a sidewall with an inner face and an outer face and configured to contain nuclear fuel within a fuel region, and an elongate member extending from the outer face along at least a portion of the fuel region and having a contact surface configured to stabilize the duct during operation of the nuclear fuel assembly, wherein the elongate member further has a recess extending inwardly from the contact surface. There is also a fuel assembly of a nuclear reactor.
EFFECT: group of inventions can compensate for internal pressure within adjacent ducts to effectively reduce the load due to the pressure acting on the ducts to the difference between the two adjacent duct assemblies.
