FIELD: examination of documents.
SUBSTANCE: security feature for the authentication of a security document comprises an at least partially transparent substrate with a first surface and a second surface. First pattern is arranged on the first surface. First pattern is obtained using a first initial pattern. Second pattern is arranged on the second surface. Second pattern is obtained using the first initial pattern and using a second initial pattern. Transmittance and reflection coefficients of the first and second patterns are selected such that in a viewing mode in reflected light, only the first initial pattern is visible. However, in a viewing mode in transmitted light, only the second initial pattern is visible.
EFFECT: security feature for the authentication of the security document is proposed.
