FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the pharmaceutical industry and is a composition for accelerating alcohol metabolism, reducing blood alcohol levels or alleviating one or more of the undesirable effects associated with alcohol toxicity, comprising a mixture of bacteria comprising Pediococcus acidilactici, Pediococcus pentosaceus and Lactobacillus plantarum, where each of the bacteria in the mixture is individually anaerobically fermented, collected, dried and ground to produce a powder having an average particle size of 295 microns, with 60 % of the mixture in the range of sizes from 175 to 840 microns, and the mixture has the following characteristics: a) moisture content less than 5 %; and b) final concentration of bacteria from 105 to 1011 colony forming units (CFU) per gram of composition.
EFFECT: invention accelerates alcohol metabolism, lowers blood alcohol level, alleviates one or more of the undesirable effects associated with alcohol toxicity.
