FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of manufacturing an electrode of titanium alloys in a hydraulic press consisting of a ram, a container, a container sleeve, a die with a dead matrix, a centering and a guiding sleeve. Method includes charging the charge into the container sleeve, forming the electrode and recovering the electrode. Container bushing with a cylindrical bore is used with a diameter equal to the diameter of the electrode into which a batch charge containing a titanium sponge and waste of titanium alloys is loaded, mouthpiece of the bushing-container is closed with the mouthpiece, with the help of a press stamp, the charge is pushed into the working space of the said bushing, ensuring that it is pressed in the entire volume of its working space, then the mouthpiece is taken away, dead matrix is removed and the next portion of the charge is pressed to ensure that the pressed electrode leaves the container sleeve into the centering sleeve and then into the ruling sleeve made by the assembly, and the electrode is removed by removing the parts of the ruling sleeve.
EFFECT: elimination of the need to clean the matrix channel during the transition from one alloy to another is ensured, as well as facilitating the process of extracting the electrode from the ruling sleeve.
