FIELD: biology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to applied hydrobiology, namely the physiology of hydrobionts, and can be used for rapid assessment of the overall level of pollution of the water area in the natural environment, in experiment and during cultivation. As species of bioindicators use sea ruff. When assessing the state of the aquatic environment, the number of lymphocytes and segmented neutrophils in the blood of fish is determined. With the growth of lymphocytes from 79.4 to 93.87 % and the fall of neutrophils from 9.28 to 1.88 %, the increase in pollution is determined.
EFFECT: invention provides a fast method for preliminary assessment of water pollution and an approximate level of ecological well-being of the water area.
