FIELD: hydrobiology; physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for biological indication of early climatic changes in marine ecosystems. Method for biological indication of early climatic changes in marine ecosystems consists in monitoring hydrobionts, namely, behind the estuarine population of Semibalanus balanoides barnacles, constantly living in the marginal habitats, wherein the marginal biotope is identified and their number, biomass and distribution area are recorded once every 6 months, as well as measuring parameters of medium - temperature and salinity; detecting changes by comparing with results of previous observations, determining trends of indicator biological parameters in extreme gradient of natural factors, thereafter, early climatic and other ecological changes of ecosystems with operability from 6 months to 1–3 years are determined in accordance with direction and rate of changes of the marginal population of the species.
EFFECT: above described method enables to detect early climatic and other ecological changes in marine ecosystems.
