FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electroerosive cutting of a workpiece with a plain wire electrode, to stabilize the position of which two current sources are used, one of which is configured to systematically supply current pulses to the workpiece and electrode for performing electroerosion cutting, and the second one is made pulsed with the possibility of supplying unitary pulses with adjustable parameters to the workpiece. Before starting the penetration of the electrode into the workpiece, the value of the electric field strength in the space between the workpiece and the electrode is measured one-time, and the result of the measurement is stored. After this, when cutting in the middle of the thickness of the workpiece, the field strength in the space between the electrode and the walls of the groove of the workpiece cut is systematically measured, difference in strength between systematic and one-time measurements is determined until the maximum value of the difference is reached. Then a pulse of current is fed from the pulsed current source to the workpiece with a voltage not lower than the voltage supplied from the current source for the electroerosion cutting of the workpiece.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at reducing the amplitude of the beating of the wire electrode in the groove during the cutting of the workpieces, stabilizing its position in the groove and reducing the errors of the groove walls along the height of the workpiece.
