FIELD: chemistry; technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a production process of 2,3,5,6-tetraphenyl(benzyl)pyrazines (1), where R=Ph, CH2Ph. New production process of 2,3,5,6-tetraphenylpyrazines and 2,3,5,6-tetrabenzylpyrazines is the interaction of nitriles of general formula R-C≡N, (where R=Ph, PhCH2) with EtAlCl2, in the presence of magnesium (Mg, powder) and Cp2TiCl2 catalyst, at 20–22 °C and atmospheric pressure for 4–8 hours.
EFFECT: new production process of 2,3,5,6-tetraphenylpyrazines and 2,3,5,6-tetrabenzylpyrazines is developed which allows to shorten the reaction time and increase the yield of 2,3,5,6-tetraphenyl(benzyl)pyrazines to 68–91 %.
