FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to special metallurgy for producing nickel-based alloys. Method comprises the recovery and activation of substandard waste of main production in the preparation of charge materials for grade metal smelting. Activation is carried out by special additional recovery melting of substandard wastes and the use of standard waste of own production in a DC arc furnace with deep oxidative purging of the melt with oxygen and additional refining vacuum arc remelting. Elements contained in substandard wastes, not involved during primary use after their activation and recovery allow introducing such wastes into the filling of the melting of the grade metal in the amount of up to 70–80 % of the filling volume of the smelting materials.

EFFECT: method provides resource saving due to activation of substandard waste, including saving of expensive and scarce charge materials.
