FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of metallurgy, specifically to methods for production of a corrosion-resistant nickel-based HN63MB alloy with a carbon content lower than 0.005%, and can be used in manufacture of welded chemical equipment operating in corrosive environments. The method for production of a corrosion-resistant nickel-based HN63MB alloy with a carbon content lower than 0.005% includes melting charge materials in vacuum, refining the resulting melt in vacuum at a temperature of 1550÷1750°C and smelting a grade alloy. Pure charge materials and up to 80% of nickel-molybdenum master alloy are used as charge materials, wherein nickel-molybdenum master alloy ingots are first smelted in air in an open furnace at atmospheric pressure with blowing the master alloy melt with oxygen to reach a minimum carbon content not exceeding 0.001÷0.002%, the resulting master alloy in form of ingots is then added to the pure charge materials and vacuum-induction melting of the brand alloy is executed.
EFFECT: method provides low carbon content in the alloy and allows to conserve expensive and deficient metal molybdenum.
