SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for controlling regenerative braking of a vehicle, where a regenerative braking mode is initiated in response to an initiating control input to an accelerator of the vehicle. Initiating control input comprises a reduction in the degree of actuation of the accelerator of the vehicle. Level of regenerative braking in the regenerative braking mode is modified in response to at least one of the following additional control inputs: a further reduction in the degree of actuation of the accelerator, application of a brake of the vehicle, application of a clutch of the vehicle, and a change of gear of the vehicle. Modified level of regenerative braking is maintained after the additional control input has been terminated. Regenerative braking control system and a vehicle are also disclosed.

EFFECT: method of controlling regenerative braking of a vehicle enables to recover the maximum amount of regenerative energy in real conditions within the operating cycle, and also enables to recuperate a small amount of energy during initial pressing of the gas pedal, and improves the accuracy of predicting the driver’s actions and the perceived performance of the vehicle.
