FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an olefin polymer in the presence of hydrogen in a gas-phase polymerization reactor. Polymerization reactor has three or more polymerization zones, where at least two of the polymerization zones are sub-zones of a polymerization apparatus, in which the growing polymer particles flow down in a compacted form. At least one polymerization zone has a ratio of hydrogen to total volume of olefins, which is 1.5 times lower than the ratio of hydrogen to the total volume of olefins in the polymerization zone, having the highest ratio of hydrogen to the total volume of olefins and which is 1.5 times higher than the ratio of hydrogen to the total volume of olefins in the polymerization zone, having the lowest ratio of hydrogen to the total volume of olefins.

EFFECT: olefin polymerization method enables simple polymerization in three or more polymerization zones in one polymerization reactor and enables to obtain homogeneous multimodal olefin polymers with improved combinations of polymer properties.
