SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of dentistry, in particular to a dental care product and its application. Disclosed is a dental care product containing 0.4–40 wt% mineral particles, where the particles have a size of 0.01–50 microns, and 0.001–5 wt% of a protein capable of forming a protein matrix, which is a hydrogel, where the dental care product contains a fluorophore, where the protein is a self-assembling peptide having at least 60 % sequence identity with the peptide consisting of SEQ ID NO: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 or 19. Mineral particles may contain, for example, calcium phosphate, preferably hydroxyapatite. Fluorophore may be a fluorescent amino acid residue of the protein matrix. Product can be a toothpaste (dentifrice), prophylactic paste, tooth powder, tooth polishing agent, tooth gel, chewing gum, candy, lozenge, mouthwash, whitening strip, coated dental floss, coated toothbrush, tube, syringe or dental tray containing gel or paste. Also disclosed is the use said dental care product for teeth whitening, as well as a cosmetic method of teeth whitening, including applying said dental care product to teeth, preferably one, two or three times a day for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or more days preferably daily.

EFFECT: use of said dental care product provides a significantly more pronounced and more stable whitening effect as compared with whitening compositions of the prior art.
