FIELD: information security.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to the field of information security, specifically to systems of biometric identification based on papillary finger pattern. In a method for improving the reliability of biometric fingerprint identification, an image of a fingerprint is read out, data on the location of features of a readable graphic image of a papillary pattern with archival data are compared, measurement of lateral deflection of the probe is performed due to friction forces when moving along the surface of the finger.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase the reliability of biometric authentication of a person’s identity by increasing the durability of device protection against picking attacks by analyzing the local interaction of the probe with the surface of the finger, which will allow the security system to distinguish the true papillary pattern from its graphic image or impression.
