FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymeric binders, in particular, low-flammability compositions based on polyester isophthalic resin, which can be used for the production of polyester materials, glass, carbon and mineral fiber reinforced composite materials based thereon, which have a reduced ability to ignite and maintain combustion. Binder includes a polyester resin and a flame retardant additive, which is a dried product of liquid-phase oxidation of a lignin-containing substrate in an alkaline medium in the presence of copper salts at a temperature not exceeding 90 °C, fire-retarding agent A, or a mixture of the specified fire-retarding agent A with aluminum hydroxide, or a mixture of the specified fire-retarding agent A with ammonium polyphosphate, or a mixture of the specified fire-retarding agent A with aluminum hydroxide and ammonium polyphosphate, while the content of the flame retardant additive is 10–50 pts. wt. at 100 pts. wt. including polyester resin.
EFFECT: providing a composition of polyester binder of reduced flammability, obtained using environmentally friendly fire-retarding agent.
