FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optics and photonics and can be used to record optical information in glass in digital or analog formats, as well as to create nano- and micro-sized light sources in glass. Method of recording optical information in glass containing ions and charged molecular clusters of silver consists in creation of local regions by irradiating it with ionizing radiation, while the glass is irradiated with electrons with an energy of 5–50 keV and a dose of 5–40 mcC/cm2.

EFFECT: invention solves the problem of increasing the recording density of optical information in glass containing silver, increasing the luminescence intensity of irradiated areas of glass and reducing the luminescence intensity in glass volume.
