FIELD: electrochemistry; electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of manufacturing hydrogen electrode for oxygen-hydrogen fuel cell belongs to the field of electrochemistry, namely to manufacture of structural elements of hydrogen pumps and fuel cells, specifically to manufacture of hydrogen electrodes. It involves fixing thin palladium-containing membrane 1–30 mcm thick, coated on both sides with layer of finely dispersed palladium black, on porous metallic nickel base by contact spot welding. In this case, membrane is made layer by layer in form of thin three-layer composite film, inner layer of which is made of metal that dissolves hydrogen well, such as uranium, titanium, thorium, cerium, vanadium or tantalum with thickness of 2–50 mcm, and outer layers – from palladium or its alloys 0.1–0.5 mcm thick.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce content of precious metal – palladium.
