METHOD FOR PREDICTING ADVERSE PERINATAL OUTCOMES BY MEANS OF COMPLEX ESTIMATION OF FETUS BRAIN CIRCULATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2674865 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to radiation diagnosis, and can be used in predicting adverse perinatal outcomes. For this purpose, at the beginning of the third trimester of pregnancy at a period of 28–32 weeks and/or at the end of the third trimester (37–40 weeks), a Doppler study of the blood flow of the fetus is performed in the middle cerebral artery (MCA), in the anterior cerebral artery (ACA) and the posterior cerebral artery (PCA). Resistance index (IR) is determined in these three cerebral arteries. If a decrease in IR is detected in at least one artery, the development of unfavorable perinatal outcomes is predicted. Values of the decrease in blood flow should be as follows: for a period of 28–32 weeks – less than 0.75 in the ACA, and/or less than 0.76 in the MCA, and/or less than 0.75 in the PCA. On the period of 37–40 weeks – less than 0.65 in the ACA, and/or less than 0.66 in the MCA, and/or less than 0.66 in the PCA.

EFFECT: method provides the most accurate prediction of the development of adverse perinatal outcomes due to impaired cerebral circulation.
