SUBSTANCE: proposed microorganism of the genus Escherichia, which has the ability to produce O-succinylhomoserine or succinic acid, where the activity α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase complex (KGDHC) is increased in comparison with the level of its endogenous activity, the activity of homoserine-O-succinyltransferase is further increased compared with the level of its endogenous activity and the activity of at least one of cystathionine gamma synthase and homoserine kinase is eliminated. Method for the production of O-succinylhomoserine, a method for producing succinic acid and the use of a microorganism of the genus Escherichia for the production of O-succinylhomoserine are also proposed.
