SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, surgery, functional diagnostics, and can be used to diagnose intra-abdominal hypertension. For this purpose, a computer tomography of the abdomen is performed. Anterior-posterior and transverse dimensions of the inferior vena cava are measured at the level of the second lumbar vertebra. Ratio of the transverse size of the vein to the anterior-posterior is calculated. If this value is more than 2.0, the patient is diagnosed with intra-abdominal hypertension.

EFFECT: method provides a reduction in the traumatic nature of the study.
