FIELD: smoking accessories.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article which includes a liquid release component comprising an inner core of a sustained release liquid delivery material, comprising a closed matrix structure comprising a cross-linked polymer matrix forming a plurality of domains; and a liquid composition which is enclosed within the domains and can be released from the closed matrix structure upon compression of the material, wherein the liquid delivery material provides sustained release of the liquid composition when said material is compressed within the force range of at least 5 N; and a fragile outer shell which encloses the inner core of the liquid delivery material and contains at least one film-forming polymer and at least one plasticiser.
EFFECT: providing sustained release of a liquid composition.
