FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a group comprising a swirling ring for plasma gas for a plasma torch with liquid cooled and method for controlling the flow of plasma gas in a plasma torch. Swirl ring includes a substantially hollow body having a distal end, a proximal end, the inner area formed by the inner surface and the outer surface. Inner area in the body is designed to accommodate the electrode of a plasma torch. Swirling ring has a first hole located in the region of the near end of the body, the second hole located around the central part of the body, and the third hole, including at least one opening, creating a twist, and located in the region of the far end of the body.
EFFECT: third hole provides for the creation of a vortex flow of plasma-forming gas around the electrode at the far end of the body of the swirl ring.
