FIELD: cutting.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the processing of materials by cutting and can be used for milling narrow grooves in products from difficult-to-machine materials. Set of cutting plates for a disk cutter contains cutting plates, each of which is made with a central hole, the upper working and lower base surfaces, between which there are side surfaces with side base surfaces, the main cutting edges formed at the intersection of the side surfaces, auxiliary cutting edges formed at the intersection of the upper working surface with the lateral surfaces, and angular cutting edges with radius rounding, at the same time, the cutting plates of the set are made with different radius of curvature of the corner cutting edges in the range of 0.2–4 mm and the corresponding thickness, providing the width of the milled groove, selected from the above conditions. Disk mill includes a housing with sockets in which the said cutting plates are installed with one radius of curvature of the corner cutting edges with the possibility of their replacement by plates with a different radius of curvature.

EFFECT: technological capabilities of disk mills expand.
