FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines equipped with exhaust gas recirculation systems. Exhaust gas recirculation system cooler (300) comprises a coolant channel, a first exhaust gas channel and a second exhaust gas channel. Coolant channel comprises coolant inlet (350) and coolant outlet (360). Coolant inlet (350) is located on first longitudinal surface (352) of the cooler and is fluidly connected to the outer contour of cooler (300). Coolant outlet (360) is located on second longitudinal surface (351) of the cooler and is fluidly connected to the outer contour of cooler (300). Second longitudinal surface (351) is opposite and parallel to first longitudinal surface (352). First exhaust gas channel comprises inlet (310) and outlet (320) located on opposite transverse surfaces (353) and (354). Transverse surfaces (353) and (354) are perpendicular to first and second longitudinal surfaces (351) and (352). Second exhaust gas channel is equal in length to the first exhaust gas channel. Second exhaust gas channel comprises inlet (330) and outlet located (340) on opposite transverse surfaces (353) and (354). Inlet (330) of the second exhaust channel is located on the same surface (354) as outlet (320) of the first exhaust channel. Outlet (340) of the second exhaust channel is located on the same surface (353) as inlet (310) of the first exhaust channel. Engine operation methods and exhaust gas recirculation system are disclosed.
EFFECT: reduction of dimensions while arranging without disturbing engine performance.
